Notable Citizens

William Hall Phipps, Auditor General, Philippine Islands

(1865-1936) Lived, practiced law and is buried in Paulding, Ohio.

 

Dr. John Henry Neeley, Horticulturist

(1870-1934) Passionate about the development of flora and fauna of Paulding. Nationwide influence in his field of interest.

 

Roland David Smith, American Artist

(1906-1965) Influential painter and sculptor. Graduate of Paulding High School, Class of 1924.

 

Foy David Kohler, Ambassador to U.S.S.R.

(1908-1990) Served during the Cold War under President Kennedy. Born in Oakwood, Ohio.
